50 Shades of Grey

I'm seriously not sure where the time goes when I don't blog for a while. Sometimes, I just lack motivation. Other times I lack time. I think the past month has been a combination of that. Maybe lacking a creative feel too? Who knows. I'm also a big fan of constantly changing my blog layout, which I haven't done in almost a year... maybe I'm having a mid-blog crisis? I need to think of something to spice things up! In the meantime, I announced my giveaway winner! I had a bunch of entries and used Rafflecopter to pick a random winner by the name of Pam from the USA. Congrats, Pam! She has already been contacted and her polishes have already been shipped out.

Anyway, I want to show you all what I've had on my nails the past few days. You know those last few days of work before an epic vacation, where you don't want to do ANYTHING? That's precisely what I'm experiencing right now. I should be happy that my vacation is so soon but work is boring lately & that's totally killing my mood.

What better than a good old Chanel to raise my spirits? Besides skipping ahead 7 days to my vacation, probably nothing.

Colors Used: Chanel Graphite, Sephora by OPI Sparkling Personality (a Betsey Johnson Exclusive)

I'm loving the look of unconventional accent nails. How do you ladies feel about them?

A New Favorite: Chanel Distraction

Hi ladies! I have a pretty new polish from Chanel's summer collection to show you! I have been lemming this one since I first saw it on Taylor's blog, Nailed To The T. I got it from the Easter Bunny, I love my mom, I am so grateful! I didn't want to do any stamping or layering over this polish. Just wanted to admire it for what it is alone!

edited using instagram. follow me: c4rped1em!

Here's a picture with flash to show the shimmer!

What I Used:
1 coat of OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
3 coats of Chanel Distraction
1 coat of Poshe Top Coat

I love this polish! It's SO pretty, and has great wear. I've had it on for two full days and I only have a tiny chip on my thumb nail. Every polish chips so quickly on me because I work a LOT and hard.. I'm always using my hands so it's impossible to avoid tipwear/chips. This polish is seeming to do the trick though.

Worth $25? For me, YES! I love Chanel, in middle school I did a huge report on Coco Chanel and her roots and I fell in love with the company. Of course, I'd fall in love with one of the most expensive designer companies! Damnit! When and if I have a spare $400 I desperately want Chanel sunglasses.. a girl can dream!

April's Tennis Corset

For Christmas, my best friend got me Chanel April from their upcoming Spring collection. I love it, and I've just been waiting for the right time to wear it. Because my best friend is also my favorite person to play tennis with, I decided to add accent nails with Essie Tennis Corset.

New Year's Eve Mani!

Happy New Year to all of you!! I hope everyone had a great time ringing in the new year. My New Year's Eve started out horribly. I've been seeing this guy and we had plans but he completely ditched me and stopped talking to me.. things were totally great so I'm not sure what happened. Oh well. Like that Jay Z song... I'm on to the next one! Now for my NYE manicure..

Chanel Nouvelle Vague: Lemming Squashed!

Today, I decided to wear one of my most prized polishes: Chanel Nouvelle Vague. This color is a light, robin's egg blue with a creme consistency. This definitely falls under the category of Tiffany blue. Nouvelle Vague is from Chanel's summer 2010 collection. Although the polish retailed for $24 when it first came out, it later became discontinued & is hard to find (and rather expensive) on eBay. I paid $15 for this baby on a blog sale. It's all a matter of luck sometime. ;-)

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, China Glaze For Audrey looks a lot like this polish. Here is a live comparison between the two if you're curious as to how they compare/contrast.

Again, don't mind the messy (well, messier than usual) swatches today. I woke up late and only had a little bit of time to paint these.

Chanel Paradoxal

What better to reward myself/motivate myself to finish the rest of my schoolwork than to use my first Chanel polish?! :-) I've been so annoyed at how I can't get this to photograph well. I guess I need to go outside and take pictures in the sunlight. That or I need a better camera. I'm updating on break at work right now.. tee hee!

This color is dark and dusty. In the light, it has a GORGEOUS shimmer to it.

I love it. :-) I hope you do, too!
