Orly Mermaid Tail PLUS...an impromptu giveaway!

When I heard that the Orly Glam FX were on clearance at Sally's, and clearance was an extra 50% off this weekend, I literally went to three different Sally's stores looking for them. I. am. crazy. But anyway, I picked up four! The one I'm about to show you, the blue one, and the pink one (way too lazy to remember or even look up names, but you'll see them in future posts I'm sure).

I actually picked up two of Mermaid Tail. Two? I don't need to. Which is why I'm giving one away on Instagram! All you need to do is follow me on Instagram and like the picture I posted about the giveaway. Pretty simple way to win an absolutely GORGEOUS polish, no? My instagram username is c4rped1em. Now what are you waiting for? Go for the gold!

Alright, enough rambling. Here it is!

I used two coats of Color Club Perfect Mol-ten and one coat in a gradient style of Orly Mermaid Tail- my accent finger is just two full-on coats. I'm a weirdo when it comes to green polish. Green is my favorite color but I've never been much of a fan of green polish. I think that's slowly starting to change, as I absolutely LOVED this manciure. Loved it! I ordered Zoya Ivanka in the recent promo and I am super duper excited about that green.

Let me leave you with a picture of myself and my adorable cousins. I love these kids. They live a few hours away but yesterday we drove up to visit and get lunch. It was such a nice day. I'm stunned that MacKenzie is going into fourth grade and Joseph is going into kindergarten. That makes me feel so old. I forget they can even read sometimes because I still imagine them being babies.

Ignore how much of a hot mess I am. ;D

Have a nice day, lovelies! Don't forget to enter my Instagram giveaway!

Jumping on the indie polish bandwagon...

I was so lucky to win a few of the prizes in Holographic Hussy's recent giveaway! They were my first indie polishes! Here are the two I won:

KBShimmer Proud Peacock & Utopia Secret Lover

Today I'm going to show you KBShimmer Proud Peacock. The KBShimmer website describes Proud Peacock like this: "Like a peacock's tail, this polish is one you will be proud to show off. A teal green base is accented by tons of glitter. We started with a large blue hex, and added both a black and black opal hex. We then went micro with black and white diamond glitters. Fuchsia, teal, and navy small glitters accent several holographic glitters, including a silver bar, teal, and two sizes of silver." This polish is packed with glitter in the bottle, but I struggled to get that to show on the nail. Here it is-

To achieve this look, I used 3 coats of Proud Peacock. The top picture is of my right hand and the bottom picture is of my left hand. I like how the glitter distribution looks different on each nail- that's always fun. To be honest, I like the way this looks in pictures better than I do in person. It looks a lot lighter in these pictures and I like that coloring better.

What do you think?! What do you have on your nails today?

Deborah Lippmann Naked with Glitter In The Air

Hiii ladies! The past few days have been busy as usual... I finally got an hour to myself this morning and got to paint my nails! I decided to go with my two and only Deborah Lippmann polishes, Naked and Glitter In The Air. Naked is a nude polish that was flawless in two coats. Glitter In The Air is a VERY sparse glitter. The combination is really delicate. Take a look!

The tennis court features perfect lighting for shooting polishes... and I had to get my Spongebob shock absorber in the shot ;-)

REVIEW: Bath and Body Works Manicure Scrub

I was too exhausted to re-do my nails last night so today I'm going to show you all a product I've been using for a little over a week. It's a manicure scrub that I use after removing my polish/filing my nails before applying my next manicure.

This product is really cool. You take a little dollop of it and massage it into wet hands. I massage it into each nail bed for about 10 seconds. The product smells great and leaves your hands feeling really smooth and soft. I love this product, and am going to include it in my first giveaway. I want to do it when I get to 100 followers (as a THANK YOU to all of you awesome ladies) but with school and my jobs and everything I do I know it won't be possible. I want to put all of my favorite manicure products in this giveaway; basically a complete manicure kit for one of you to try everything I try. Here are my ideas so far:

1 bottle of Biotin (a beauty vitamin- strengthens your nails)
B&BW Manicure Scrub
the file & polar block I use
my favorite OPI (will be a surprise until I announce giveaway)
my favorite China Glaze
... + much more

Giveaway Win, Facebook Page + THANKS!

Hi ladies!! Here's a non-nails post (don't worry- the mani pics will come later after I get some cleaning done). First, check out this AWESOME giveaway I won!! To celebrate her one year "blogiversary," Kayla Shevonne offered a giveaway featuring two Deborah Lippmann polishes, Naked and Glitter In The Air. These are my first Deborah Lippmann polishes- needless to say, I'm excited! Thank you again Kayla! :-)

In other news.. I decided to create a Facebook page to extend my love of polish on there! It'll be an easier way to share with all of you different giveaways, blogs I love, etc.- an easier way to network (quickly), I think. Here it is!!

ALSO-I reached 75 followers today! A giveaway is definitely in the works, too. I just want to make it completely awesome so I'm starting to get things together now. :-)

AWESOME Giveaway

I don't always post about giveaways but I really like this one. This one is more about quality versus quantity. Some giveaways are huge but the polishes aren't all as stellar as this one. This giveaway will reward 3 followers. Two prizes are 3 OPI nail polishes (see her site for the details) and a gorgeous MAC eyeshadow. There are so many ways to earn extra entries, too!

Entries will be accepted until July 31, 2011 and winners will be contacted Aug 1-3. What are you waiting for!?
