Guest Week Follow-Up: Carly from Lacquered Lover

Hi ladies! I am officially back from my amazing vacation, but I have a few more posts that friends did for me that I would like to share with all of you! Here's a post from Carly at Lacquered Lover. I hope you enjoy!

Hello Lacquered Lovers!  First of all, I want to say a big thank you
to Emily for letting me write this guest post!  I love her blog and
it's so fun getting to share posts with fellow bloggers!  Today I have
a gorgeous Nubar to show you, Purple Rain Glitter.  I had never tried
Nubar until a few weeks ago (which is pretty surprising for a nail
polish hoarder like me), and so far, it's really impressing me!  They
have fabulous colors and their formula is great!  Now, without further
ado, on to the polish!

Nubar Absolute

I got this beauty in a secret santa swap I did with some of the ladies in a polish Facebook group I belong to. It's one of those polishes that I've seen before and wanted to own vaguely but didn't realize how much I wanted it until I had it! This polish may be really pretty for layering but I wanted to do it on its own for a really soft look. It reminds me of a snow angel or something. So sparkly!

Fingerpaints Special Effects Flakies Collection

Hi everybody! First off, I would like to thank all of my new readers for the huge jump in followers I've received over the past two days. If you haven't noticed, I've topped 200 !!! This is SO exciting for me, as I only started my blog in the summer. I love blogging and promise to get on here more over my winter break!!

Anyway, on to what matters. I stopped in a local Sally's to see if, by any chance, they had the new flakie collection out. I was browsing around and didn't see the display, so I decided to see if there was anything good on clearance. I stumbled upon this...

WHAT? The new collection on CLEARANCE? Already?! I checked the bottles to see if they were damaged or anything, then promptly grabbed EVERY bottle on the rack to purchase. The manager caught me- "This is a new collection that shouldn't even be out!" She wouldn't give me the sale price and I should've fought it, but I was just excited to find these that I didn't care much. On to the swatches...

From thumb to pinky: Asylum, Flashed, Flecked, Motley, Twisted

OPI Ink Flakie-fied

Hi everyone!!! Sorry for my little break from posting, it's been a busy few days, but a great few days! I saw Darius Rucker last night at the local fair and he was soooo amazing! I'll include some pics after the cut- we were in the 5th row so we had a great view.

On to today's mani.. I got OPI OPI Ink at a beauty supply store at a mall in Connecticut for six bucks! It's a gorgeous blue/green. I knew I could jazz it up with some Nubar 2010 so that's just what I did!

OPI DS Mystery plus Nubar 2010

Today has been such a long day. I'm apologizing in advance if my posts become fewer and far between. With 17 credit hours, 2 jobs, babysitting AND tutoring, my life is about to get pretty crazy. I didn't blog yesterday because I was trying to let my salon manicure last. It chipped after a damn day, proof that I do just as good a job (if not better) than those ladies. PSH! I am in love with today's manicure. I did a good job with application and barely had to clean up anything around my nail beds, when I usually do.

These dark nails are reminiscent of the dark sky and rainy day.. yuck

China Glaze Wagon Trail with Nubar 2010

First I want to thank all of my newer followers & my current awesome followers who comment on everything! I love you guys and I peruse your blogs every day, I just haven't had the chance to comment the past few days like I usually do.My new job has been sorta ridiculous.. I barely get the time to breathe, nevermind do all of the other things I have going on in my life! I've been getting really into darker colors.. not sure why, maybe it's the cool weather & upcoming fall? I'm usually never a dark polish gal, though. Here's China Glaze Wagon Trail from their '08 Rodeo Collection. Because I didn't want my mani to be too dark for the office, I topped it with some Nubar 2010 flakie goodness.

Indoors this color looked black with orange shimmer. Outdoors, it's definitely an olive green. The flakies give it a nice rainbow effect :) I'm sure this one will get some compliments today. Arggh.. off to work now.. 9-6.. could it get any worse than that?

OPI Miami Beet + Nubar 2010

Hiii! I wanted to use a polish I haven't used in a while tonight.. so I decided on OPI Miami Beet. This is a deep purple cream that I really like. I wanted to spice it up a little and was in a rush, so slapping on a coat of Nubar 2010 seemed like the quickest solution!

Here is just Miami Beet- I have 2010 on my ring finger.

I know my cuticles look rough and there's a bunch of messiness but I was in a hurry tonight so I didn't do much cleaning up.

OPI It's My Year

Sooo I'm already painting my next manicure but I really wanted to show you last night's! It's awesome- I just didn't get a chance to post it yet, I've been so busy today! I picked up OPI's new It's My Year polish from the brand new Miss Universe 2011 line. I was so excited to find this polish in Newport because it was the one from the line I really wanted. While in Newport I got some Funky Fingers, which is on my accent finger.

My only problem with this polish is that it photographs horribly. I love the formula and the application is a dream. The color is most close to the first picture I posted. Love it overall. The Funky Fingers glitter on my accent finger is Sand & Stilettos. I also put a coat of Nubar 2010 over it to even out the glitter before I put on my SV top coat. :-)

Happy 4th!!!

Happy fourth of July, ladies !!! :-) As an American it's an exciting day, I guess everyone feels a little Patriotic today, haha.

Here are some details on my nails!

Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail
Red: OPI O'Hare And Nails Look Great!
White: OPI Alpine Snow
Blue: Nicole by OPI No Limits
Accent Nail: China Glaze White Cap
Over all nails: Nubar 2010
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Yay!! Happy with this, especially considering I stayed up super late to do it (I have to be up at 5AM for work, BOO!). Ah well, never no time for my precious nails, which, by the way, are looking quite long and nicely shaped. :-) Enough for me.. off to bed. But first--

Question Of The Day
Gonna start this up for each time I blog so I can get some of your girls' opinions on things! I'll feature my favorite answer/s in my next post!! I realized today that I have no yellows in my collection! =O Which yellow/s do you girls recommend?

China Glaze Strawberry Fields (+ NUBAR 2010)

I looove this mani! It came out great. Strawberry Fields applied so well, I used 2 coats. The Nubar didn't show up as flake-y as I'd have liked it to, but I did use two coats so maybe it'll show up when I'm in the sun and not in my dark, dreary room?

I'm overall pretty pleased with this manicure =) I have to work early tomorrow morning so I'm hoping it doesn't get too ruined...

EDIT on Saturday morning at 9:30 am.

This manicure is still perfect!! Here are some sunlight pics I took yesterday so you can see the flakies.
