Guest Week Day Five: My Dark Valentine (from The Ivy Forest's Jessica)

Hi ladies! Welcome to day five of my guest blogger festivities! Today I have Jessica from The Ivy Forest showing off some awesome nail art. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! I'm Jessica, of TheIvyForest.blogspot.com, and I'm so happy to be guest blogging for Emily today! I had so many ideas on what to do for this post, but I bought a new polish recently, I knew I had to feature it in a manicure!

I've been calling this My Dark Valentine! For it I used
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry in Uptempo Plum for the base color
Nicole by OPI Step 2 The Beat of My Heart for the heart glitter
Covergirl 3-in1 Fireworks LE for the silver glitter
LA Colors Crystal Glitter for the micro glitter
and a few coats of Out The Door to top it all off!

Fingerpaints Chroma Coral

Today I'm going to show you one of the few Fingerpaints polishes I have. I actually love this brand- I think their name is cute and the colors are awesome. I found this one on the $1.99 clearance rack at Sally's and I'm glad I did.

Nicole By OPI Imagine If is on my accent nail. This is my new favorite look- accented glitter!

In the car. My nail shape looks so weird here.

I promise that this polish looks better in person than it does in pictures. I think I may do this on my toes tonight for the beach tomorrow. It's a hot color.

Sponge Mani for PAA

Hiii ladies! Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I sure did! Here are a few pics from my weekend.

I'm a huge tennis fan.. I don't know if any of you are, but I saw Andre Agassi play yesterday at the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport. He just got inducted into the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Super exciting to have front row seats to such a great match.

I couldn't help but take a picture of my hand with my smiley face stamp from the Hall of Fame <3

Gelato/Sorbet mix.. sooo good

The beaches in Rhode Island are so beautiful.

Now, on to today's manicure! The ladies of the awesome Facebook group Polish-aholics Anonymous feature different themed manicure challenges every Monday, and this week it's sponging, which I've never done. Now, some of the girls on there are amazing when it comes to nail art, but all I had to use tonight was a kitchen sponge so I did what I could. I think it looks super abstract and artsy, which I love!

What I used:
1 coat OPI natural nail base coat
2 coats OPI Cozu-melted In The Sun
1 sponged coat Nicole by OPI No Limits (which dries matte)
1 sponged coat Funky Fingers Golden Coast
2 coats Seche Vite top coat

Here are some details on my nails!

Yay!! Happy with this, especially considering I stayed up super late to do it (I have to be up at 5AM for work, BOO!). Ah well, never no time for my precious nails, which, by the way, are looking quite long and nicely shaped. :-) Enough for me.. off to bed. But first--

Question Of The Day
Gonna start this up for each time I blog so I can get some of your girls' opinions on things! I'll feature my favorite answer/s in my next post!! I realized today that I have no yellows in my collection! =O Which yellow/s do you girls recommend?
