pink wednesday: cult nails untamed

Hiii! :) Hoping the first half of everyone's week went well! I'm doing ok, hanging in there. Not happy with a few things in my life but I'm trying to change them. I'm trying to get to the point where the good outweighs the bad. I think I'm almost there. Today hasn't been amazing buuut... I have a date tonight! I'm seeing someone new and he has been excellent thus far. I really like him, and it's exciting. Tonight we're getting fancy and going out for hibachi.

I really wanted to try out Cult Nails Untamed for tonight. I wasn't sure if I would have time to paint my nails, but I managed to squeeze it in. ;D

This is three coats of Cult Nails Untamed. I wasn't really expecting a jelly polish but that's what I got! It was sheerer than I expected but I had faith that it would build up appropriately, and that it did. I just love Cult Nails.

And, a bonus! I bought some heels at work last night- I work part-time at a Payless Shoesource. Here they are:

I feel like they look better in person than they do in pictures. The moral of the story? I am not not not a heel person but I am branching out for tonight. To be honest, I'm a little nervous! Nervous but excited, for sure.

Have a happy night, y'all!

Pink Wednesday: reswatch of Zoya Kimber

Hiii! It's my favorite/least favorite day of the week.. I love wearing pink on Wednesdays so I can call it Pink Wednesday and say Mean Girls quotes in my head all day... least favorite day because Wednesday at work is sooo long. I don't have much to say today besides that..

This is two coats of Zoya Kimber. This was one of my favorites of the recent summer collection. It's so so pretty! Application was perfect. I did this mani so quickly and it came out great!

What do you think?

Pink Wednesday: Nothing like a day at the beach.

I got to spend today at the beach! I had the best time with my work bestie, Lierin, and her baby girl Harper. The weather was perfect, the beach was perfect. Everything was awesome. This was probably my last beach trip for the rest of the summer which sucks, but what can you do? Fall is coming so fast, and I am not ready for it. Ugh.

Here's Harper's sandy little bum- I just love those darn ruffles.

I've been wearing a ton of pink lately- I never used to like pink polishes so this is new for me! I decided to coordinate this pink with Pink Wednesday, which I also never seem to do. These two polishes I'm about to show you were seriously made to be together. They are perfect for eachother.

Wrist candy! I'm wearing my pink/gold Kate Spade bangle, my pink tennis string bracelet, and my best friends Alex and Ani.

What I'm wearing is two coats of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi topped with Sation Glintz and Glam. I love these polishes. The pink in each of them is the exact same, and they look great together. I LOVE Pedal Faster Suzi- my fave light pink. It's just so beautiful and delicate. It's a really complementary shade. If you don't have it yet, I'd consider it a staple piece to any polish lover's collection.

Do you agree? Do you like light, delicate pinks?

Pink Wednesday: OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!

Hi readers! Hope everybody's week is going great! I have a color today that I've been meaning to post for literally weeks. This is a part of the new OPI Holland Collection which came out in February. I kind of went crazy and bought a BUNCH of the polishes from this collection... in my eyes, it was a total hit. Here's Pedal Faster Suzi!

Colors I Used: OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!

Love, love, love this polish! I felt super girly wearing this, in a good way! I'm not extremely girly (besides my love of polish), I don't wear any makeup and I don't put too much time into my style. This polish is a quick and easy way to add some girliness to your look! The tone was just right for my skin tone, and the added shimmer makes it even more awesome. Great job, OPI! I've worn this polish twice since buying it and looking at these pictures is making me want to wear it again!

Do you have this one? Do you agree/disagree with my review?

Belated Pink Wednesday: Sephora by OPI It's My Pink

I've been looking forward to doing a Pink Wednesday post ALL week! I'm falling back in love with pink polishes and this one was no exception. I bought this polish after finding out that it was infused with Betsey Johnson's perfume fragrance! I thought that was SO cool! And, indeed it is. I can't stop smelling my nails.. it smells so good. I always wear the same Chanel Mademoiselle so I never buy any other perfumes but I may be purchasing this one in the near future. Okok, enough about the perfume!

with a new bracelet that I bought!

Later on, I got bored with the one color and decided to stamp..

this picture was edited on Instagram. if you use instagram, follow me! my username is c4rped1em.

What I Used:
1 coat of OPI Nail Envy
3 coats of Sephora by OPI It's My Pink
1 coat of Poshe Top Coat
Fingerpaints Black Expressionism to stamp with

I'm so pleased with this manicure, I feel bad taking it off today to re-do my nails!! I've had this manicure on for a couple of days and have no tipwear..which is rare for me because I always get tipwear very quickly on all polishes. Love it so much!

Did you buy any of the BJ exclusive $OPI polishes at Sephora?! Which ones!?

I haven't done a Pink Wednesday in a while so I figured I'd try something different! I Lily Love You by OPI is an amazing polish. I matched it to a Funky Fingers polish called Manic Flamingo and found myself a great pair!

Pink Wednesday: OPI DS Extravagance

Happy Pink Wednesday! I haven't had a Pink Wednesday post in a while so I figured I would do that today. Here is a gorgeous Designer Series polish that I had not previously tried as a full mani.

Pink Wednesday: Flashy Zebra Print

Happy Pink Wednesday!! I hope you all are having a good day so far. I just realized it's only 10 am, wtf! I've already been awake almost four hours.. that is seriously insane. My two classes are over so I'm just chillin' in the library.. I don't have to work until 11 so I'm doing homework relaxing until then. Last night I decided to try getting creative with my nails, and I didn't do a completely horrible job!

Pink Wednesday: My First Tape Mani!

I wanted to try something different today, so I decided to give the ever famous tape manicure a shot. I googled "tape mani tutorial," and wound up with this one from Nailside's blog. Of course, my manicure doesn't look anything like hers but I think I did an okay job considering this was my first time using tape!

I didn't do any cleanup on this manicure, as I was running really late for work and just didn't have the time... usually I have to do a ton of cleanup, so I'd say this isn't half bad.

Pink Wednesday: OPI Bright Lights- Big Color

Happy Pink Wednesday! I know a lot of you complain that Pink Wednesday is boring or that you're sick of it, but I think it's a great chance to force myself to try the million pinks I have in my stash. This polish is part of the OPI Brights collection, and features a sparkling glimmer in a coral base. I love the application on this one.

flash- indoors

1 coat Seche Clear base coat
3 coats OPI Bright Lights- Big Color
1 coat Seche Vite top coat

flash outdoors- look at that shimmer!

On a personal note, my first day of work went very well yesterday! I wasn't exactly sure what I was going into but it turned out to be more of a first day than an interview. I was making phone calls 10 minutes into being there haha. I'll be working as a receptionist at my eye doctor's office, starting pay is SO much better than Panera was. My last day at Panera is Tuesday- I also have my second interview at Payless tomorrow, gonna be a BUSY semester! I've gotta plan my schedule for enough time for my 16 credits of classes, blogging, tennis, going to the gym, tutoring, babysitting, AND my two jobs.. I'm tired just thinking about it! Now I have to work 12-4 at the dr's office, then 5-10 at Panera.. whoooooo. Can't wait for this day to be over.

Pink Wednesday: Essie Cocktail Hour remix

I wanted to use something I haven't used before, and this stood out. I got Essie Cocktail Hour at my beauty supply store on sale for $2.99. It's got a really pretty shimmer in the bottle.

To mix it up a bit, I put ChG White Cap on my index & thumb nails and a thin layer of OPI Our Song over the rest of the nails.

Look at that yummy shimmer! I played tennis for a couple of hours today and I couldn't stop looking at my nails.

Bottle shots: L->R Cocktail Hour, Our Song, White Cap

OPI Conga-Line Coral for Pink Wednesday!

NAME CHANGE!
I decided to change my blog's name from Perfectly Manicured to Embellished Nails!
(just in case you were curious/noticed something different!)

FIRST: Thank you so much for allowing me to reach 60 followers! I remember a few months ago when I would blog every day and I had no followers for weeks. A giveaway is in the works, I just want it to be awesome so I'm not rushing it.

On to the polish... here's a really pretty coral for Pink Wednesday. I bought it from Wendy's blog sale. Conga-Line Coral is from OPI's Spring 2009 South Beach collection. I really like it. It's a frosty orange/coral/pink with a formula to die for (in my opinion, anyway!).

I also made over my blog a little with the help of Shabby Blogs :) I think that it looks a little more personal. I still have a lot of work to do, but it'll get done in due time. Happy Pink Wednesday!

OPI's Day of Shatter + Pink Wednesday

Thank god for the ladies of PAA for filling me in on OPI's Day of Shatter! I only have one shatter- the original black that I got right when it came out. I was so excited about it, but when I got it I was quickly over the trend. I wanted to do something different with it, so I tried this:

1 coat OPI Natural Nail base coat
2 coats OPI Señorita Rose-alita
1 coat OPI shatter on half nail
1 coat Seche Vite top coat

I'm pleasantly surprised. I had to fix my ring & pinky fingers because I put on too thick a coat of shatter to begin with, but I'm glad I fixed it.

Pink Wednesday: OPI DS Reflection

Hello polished pretties!! :-) Happy Pink Wednesday! Because yesterday night's manicure (OPI My Chihuahua Bites) was still nearly perfect (ONE little chip from work), I decided to just layer another color over it. I chose OPI's DS Reflection, one I haven't really used. I guess it's just boring to me. I mean, it's pretty, but it isn't one of my WOW colors.

This is My Chihuahua Bites alone. The reason I love OPI is because it can withstand a long morning of working at Panera and stay gorgeous throughout. The color definitely looks more red in the pictures from last night than it does in real life, so I wanted to show you an outdoor shot, even though it's blurry.

Quick comparison, just My Chihuahua Bites on the first two, and the last two are with 1 coat of DS Reflection over it

I also picked up CG's Shower Together today, along with some nail wheels and some cute nail stickers! Gonna start some nail wheels of main colors (one for red, one for blues, one for corals) so I can begin comparing/contrasting and organizing a bit more.

Question Of The Day
(well, night!)

Here's a simple one: CHINA GLAZE or OPI?
Why?

First Official "Pink Wednesday:" Essie Exposure

Here's the first "salon-grade" polish I ever owned. I got it in a secret santa basket at Christmastime four or so years back. It's the perfect pink, think "Barbie" pink. I was getting bored of doing just plain colors (still waiting for my first Konad plate & stamper to come in.. meh) so I decided to try finding some Youtube tutorials on easy flowers. This is gonna look pathetic, but here's the video I used for the one measly flower I dotted on each hand.Very very simple, but exactly what I need. Now I'm motivated to do more with nail art and designing. These measly flowers took me probably a half hour to correctly apply to my liking.. I'm such a perfectionist and even these aren't perfect but they're the best I could get them. Well, my right hand, anyway. My left is a hot mess- I've gotta be up super early so I just sorta got lazy with that flower, screwed it up, got pissed, and quit. Around my nail beds isn't perfectly clean either, but I'll fix that in the morning. *grumpy* Why can't I draw simple flowers?! I guess it'll come with practice.

This is my right hand, the better of the 2. I know there's one missing spot for a white petal/dot but I was afraid I'd add it and make it look weird so I'm gonna leave it like this. :P

I've gotta babysit early tomorrow so depending how my motivation is after my shower in the morning, I may/may not edit this post and add some better pics after I fix the dumb flower on my left hand.
