Nail Trend: Magnetic Polish

Happy Thursday! I keep thinking it's Friday, damn! This week has gone by really fast, but I'm happy for that. One of my classes was cancelled today.. of course that meant I felt obliged to miss my two other classes, hahaha! I stayed home and got some cleaning and laundry done. It was a way more productive day than I would've had at school.

Yesterday I stumbled into Sephora and finally found the Nails Inc. magnetic polish! I was so excited. That's what you all get to see today! Take a look!

The magnetic strip is at the top. The raised bar is so you can hold it against your nail bed evenly without touching your wet nail.

What I Used:
1 coat OPI Nail Envy
2 coats Nails Inc. House of Parliament
1 coat Seche Vite Top Coat

How It Works:
To get the magnetic effect, you simply paint a coat (or two) of the polish and hold the magnet (found at the top of the cap) over your nail (while wet) for however long you'd like. I typically held it over my nails for anywhere from 3-10 seconds. The longer you hold it over your nail, the darker the magnetic effect gets. There's no congruency here because each time I wanted to see if I could make them look different...hence the random shades and lack of similarity!
Bottom Line:
My bottle was super gloopy and yucky.. it was a very hard formula to work with. I'm not sure if that's just my bottle or what. The cool effect makes the gross consistency worth it. These polishes have a price tag of $16USD each. I was so excited and didn't really pay attention to the price...but normally I wouldn't spend that much for this. It's definitely worth having in your collection, but may not be for everyone!

Have you guys tried magnetic polishes before? I know there are some other brands, but this is the first one I've tried/owned.

  2. Ooh this is nice! I have seen many swatches of these magnetic polishes but haven't tried any yet. I'll surely get a couple of the Essence ones; they are much much cheaper.
